Die! Mommie! Die!

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010

Title: Die! Mommie! Die!
Location: University of Tampa – Falk Theatre
Description: UT students will put on a production of “Die Mommie Die!”, a Charles Busch play that references campy 1960s thrillers and Greek tragedies. The show will run Thursday, Oct. 14-Sunday, Oct. 17 in the Falk Theatre, with 8 p.m. shows Thursday through Saturday and a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday.

The comic melodrama features faded pop singer Angela Arden, who is trapped in a bad marriage and attempts to find happiness in the arms of a younger man. She murders her husband, but her daughter quickly suspects her and plots Electra-like revenge with her brother. In fact, the play alludes to the Greek tragedy Agamemnon, where the hero is killed by his wife, Clytemnestra, and avenged by her daughter Electra.
General Admission – $5-10; With UT ID – Free
